Journey time from London is about
4 hours. Drive to the end of the M4, then take the A48 to Carmarthen. Turn right
at the roundabout onto the A40 towards Llandeilo to go around Carmarthen. Follow
this for 1 mile and then turn left on A484 signposted to Cardigan. Pass the
large hospital. Continue on A484 through Newcastle Emlyn (7 miles to go) and
Cenarth 3 miles to Llechryd.
In the village of Llechryd, just before the road
bends to the right up the hill, turn left, signposted to Cilgerran.
Pass over the old stone bridge to cross the River Teifi. Immediately
after the bridge you will see on your right the imposing gates and
lodge of Castell Malgwyn. A tree lined drive takes you past the
clock tower and stables and finishes at the car park in front of
the hotel.
From
Aberystwyth: Take the A487 and at the Cardigan roundabout turn left towards
Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen on the A484. Drive 3 miles, climbing a long hill
and descending again, pass through Llechryd village and as the road bears left,
turn right over bridge and hotel is immediately on right .
From
Fishguard: Take the A487 towards Aberystwyth. Turn right at second Cardigan
roundabout onto A484.
